Yesterday afternoon on Phantasy Tour there was a link posted for FREE Neil Young tickets. All you had to do was go to ticketmaster.com and enter the promo code before they were all gone. Rumor was that they gave away about 2,000 tickets. I don't know if that was true or not, but I knew personally over 40 friends that got into the show for free. If I was a person that paid over $100 for a ticket (face value for some seats) I am not sure how I would feel about that.

Even with the ticket giveaway, I thought the show was meh. Some songs were amazing - Heart of Gold and Down By The River were fantastic - but most of the show I was a little bored. I was not drunk enough to ignore the sound mixing problems, and most of the crowd was sitting down through the show or were chatting with their neighbor.

Still, its hard to bitch about a free show. Jonas may have said it best: "I came to this show with ZERO expectations, and a free ticket. Based on that, i thought it was a great show. Neil is one old fuck. Fat, 6 hairs left on the top of his head that blow around in the wind, and ugly as hell. BUT THE DUDE THREW DOWN!"

The best part of the show for me was during the encore. N E I L was lit up in red lights on the stage backdrop, and finally I got the respect I deserve. ha.

as much as i hate to say it..PT comes through again, i got 2 tix yesterday and had very similar feelings about the show..but i actually enjoyed sitting back and "watching" the show as opposed to dancing etc., it was a nice change of pace..not a bad monday night

I really enjoyed the show. I knew a majority of the songs which was nice. I agree the sound wasn't the best, it was a little low for me but I was standing in front of the soundboard and thought it sounded fine there. The crowd was definitely very mellow but i suppose his demographic is a bit older and it was a Monday night. Overall I am glad I went and would def see him again, probably not for 100 bucks though, free was the best! Thanks Neil('s)
