Wilco Update

Wilco is one of my favorite bands.

Wilco's performance at the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee will be webcast live via Wilcoworld.net in the ROADCASE section of the site TONIGHT, 4/15/09...ill check it out after tonight's heady episode of LOST.

I was excited to get this email the other day:

We're just back from mastering the record... so it's done & in the can and everyone's ready to hit the road all spring, summer and beyond. The dates and presales are going up fast and furious.

Already on sale are: Berkeley and Lake Tahoe (Stateline, NV).

Just announced: Cincinnati, Oklahoma City, El Paso, Tucson, Pomona and two shows in LA

And more are coming very shortly. We'll hit you with another email later this week detailing further plans for the East coast in July.

Don't forget the Ashes of American Flags DVD out next Saturday (April 18) for Record Store Day. It's also available for preorder at http://ashesofamericanmovie.com We're kicking off the new touring season with a live webcast from Milwaukee's Pabst Theater this Wednesday night at http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/ Prior to the first show, Wilco will be at Miller Park for the Brewers game on Monday night where Jeff Tweedy is scheduled to throw out the first pitch.

Just keeping you posted.

I also found this posted on wilcoworld.net:

The forthcoming and still-untitled next Wilco album is nearing completion. Jim Scott and the band spent the last few weeks mixing in Jim's studio in Valencia, California and here's a list of song titles spied on the reels -- note this is not necessarily complete and not in sequence.

Deeper Down
Conscript (aka I'll Fight)
One Wing
Solitaire
Wilco (the song)
Country Disappeared
Everlasting
Bull Black Nova
Sonny Feeling
You and I

Rumors and blogs regarding a guest appearance on that last track are, amazingly, quite true. Feist does indeed lend a great vocal to You and I. Other details will emerge in the coming weeks.

I'm excited to check them out at Bonnaroo this summer. Check out the trailer for their new DVD:

Nice, two shows at the Wiltern in June. Never seen 'em live, looking forward to it.

Can you drink anything other than PBRs at the Pabst Theatre? Then again.. why would you want to?
